Great Stay At Margaritaville Island Hotel Fall 2015

Special thanks to the Margaritaville Island Hotel for hosting my stay. All opinions are my own.

My family and I would HIGHLY recommend staying at the Margaritaville Island Hotel in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Having stayed last month, as the fall weather was beginning, we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay and wished it was longer!

The hotel is in a great location at The Island in Pigeon Forge. You will find restaurants such as Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville (had a great meal from there), pizza at one of our favorites – Mellow Mushroom, family-style Southern dishes are served at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, Timberwood Grill offers a great choice of meals, Dick’s Last Resort, as well as smaller locations with quick service food. If you just want a yummy dessert, my suggestion would be Auntie Anne’s for some delicious pretzels, Cinnabon or checking out the super cute candy shop called Sweet! There are some wonderful choices for entertainment here including The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel (a 200 foot-tall wheel with comfortable, all-glass gondolas that gives riders an outstanding view of the Smoky Mountains), sitting by The Island Show Fountain and watching as the water dances to some great music, little train ride for kids and more. Plus, there are plenty of gift shops to keep you busy. What more could you need?

We had a really nice welcome from the staff at the hotel on arrival and for the total duration of our visit – cannot say enough about the great hospitality! On site is the Margaritaville Coffee Shop (I grabbed a few coffees and breakfast from there), spa, bar, workout room, dining area, an amazing rooftop outdoor pool and more. While we didn’t have a chance to swim, we did have a nice time hanging out one night watching The Island Show Fountain, taking pictures of The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel that was beautifully lit and drinking a pumpkin spice latte that I purchased from the Margaritaville Coffee Shop. It made for the perfect night! I also want to mention there was a good amount of resting places with couches and chairs throughout the hotel walkways that were nice to use too.

Now on to the AMAZING accommodations!! We were so PLEASED with our room, and it worked perfectly for us. The overall feel of the room was a seaside/beach getaway. The walls were painted in one of my favorite shades of blue and there were nice pictures of Jimmy Buffet on the wall. I love the relaxed vibe it brought. So peaceful!

We had a closed off bedroom that included a TV for us, and our son used the sleeper sofa in the living room, which also had a good-sized TV. A very cool feature was the stacked stone fireplace for guests that are staying in the cooler months, and I really enjoyed the balcony where you could see all of the action that was taking place in the complex. Every time I heard the little train coming through, I would jump up and head out on the balcony to take a peek at the fun the little kids were having. The kitchenette was equipped with a Margaritaville Frozen Concoction Maker, sink, microwave, refrigerator and Keurig Coffee Maker. It was so great to use the Keurig machine in the morning as we were starting our day. It was also really nice to have a table and chairs in the living room space, as I love being able to have a place to work on my computer and still be included in the conversation with my family. Plus, there were many times that we all wanted to grab something different to eat at The Island in Pigeon Forge, and it was great to just run down, pick it up and eat at the table in our room.

Out of everything, I have to say that my favorite part of our suite was the bathroom. I joked with my family that I wanted to take the shower home with me! 🙂 After a long day of walking around, shopping, etc., it was nice to use the glassed-in shower with dual heads. Ahhh…AMAZING!!

Overall, the whole experience was fantastic! We had a wonderful time and want to thank everyone for the great service and friendliness!
