For me – and maybe you – enjoying good food while on vacation always makes for a great trip! During our time at Margaritaville Island Hotel in September, we had a chance to try out a new place and enjoy some that were very familiar to us.
Our first night:
Arriving at the hotel located at The Island in Pigeon Forge a little past our dinner time, we were so pleased to see so many choices of restaurants to choose from at the complex. We put our luggage in our room and quickly walked around to pick a place to try. We stopped in at Timberwood Grill, looked over the menu and ordered our dinner to go. A steak meal and fish were our two choices, as all three of us wanted to share. After the great service, we took our meals back over to our room so that we could relax and enjoy our dinner. Very, very happy we were with our selections and made a mental note to be sure and stop at this restaurant again in the future. My favorite was the steak – so tender and yummy! Check out Timberwood Grill here.
Staying busy on our days during our visit, we stuck with the same theme in grabbing our food and taking it back to our comfy hotel room for dinner. On our second night, we were looking forward to watching the Monday Night Football game while eating too, so this plan worked for us.
After noticing that Mellow Mushroom was near us – it was a must! Again, I can’t say enough about how convenient staying at Margaritaville Island Hotel at The Island in Pigeon Forge is for all of the choices in restaurants, shopping and more. Now, back to our pizza from Mellow Mushroom – it was FABULOUS!!! We ordered one with pineapple – which is our favorite topping – and one with ham. This is absolutely one of our favorite pizza places. We were glad to have a refrigerator in our room to store our leftovers in for the next day’s lunch too! Get more information on Mellow Mushroom here.
Our 3rd night:
Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville was also on our must-eat-list. We had eaten at their location in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a few times before, and we had a chance on the last night of our stay to visit this fun place. The interior of the location in Tennessee was so different from the restaurant in South Carolina, but still very nice! We didn’t notice the hurricane margarita feature that we had seen at the beach. When our son was little, he thought it was a ketchup bottle! 🙂
Speaking of our son, he chose coconut shrimp with sweet potato fries for his dinner, and my husband and I shared a delicious meal of chicken tenders, mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans. Great choices again!! Read about Margaritaville here.
All in all we were very satisfied with our dinner selections – we were 3 for 3 on all of picks for the entire stay!! Great trip, and we had some great food! 🙂
