So Many Fun Things To See And Do At Christmas At Gaylord Palms 2015

My family and I were so excited to take a peek at what Gaylord Palms had to offer for the Christmas at Gaylord Palms celebration on Monday, November 23, 2015! The resort is located in Kissimmee, Florida, and the holiday event will officially begin on Tuesday, November 24, and run until January 3, 2016. We had not had a chance to ever visit this resort, and thought it was really NICE!

We started out by sitting down in the gorgeous glass-enclosed atrium to watch as the tree was lit and enjoyed listening to the Mistletones singing Christmas carols. The resort has said that the tree is 54 feet tall, it contains 344 branches, 48,000 lights and an impressive 7-foot-tall star topper. It is beautiful for sure! After that, we were treated to an AMAZING look at Cirque Dreams Unwrapped. It was so entertaining. Wow – so much talent.

Moving downstairs, we entered another area called Alpine Village where more fun was taking place. We stopped to get a photo with Nutmeg and then headed over to ICE! We were provided with a warm jacket before walking into the area that we were told was 9 degrees, and I was reminded of my youth. I grew up in Michigan and had fun playing in the snow for hours at a time. Oh, the memories!!! With our noses cold, numb fingers and watery eyes, we made our way around all of the BEAUTIFUL ice sculptures smiling all the way through!! The theme was ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas and it was just a fantastic, colorful display around every corner. Our son Clayton III had fun riding down the ice slide too. That was a fun sight for me to see! He is getting older way too fast, and I love seeing him have fun like he was young kid again. On a side note, you may want to wear gloves and a hat to keep you toasty warm. I have to say that ICE! is so COOL (see what I did there), but was glad to get back to the warmth and defrost. 🙂

We checked out the the Build-A-Bear section where they had some cool Star Wars bears and Peanuts characters for kids to make! There was a nice area with Christmas decorations, treats and more for sale as well. The Mistletones made their way from the original preview area, and were performing for the guests near ICE!

Around the corner, we were thrilled to take a look at the snow tubing area that housed an 18’ 8-lane giant snow hill that was created with 1.5 million pounds of real Florida snow. We were welcomed by some yummy brownies, krispie treats, hot cocoa, coffee and more. That was a nice surprise! We enjoyed our treats as we watched the guests riding down the hill and listened to Christmas music playing in the background. There was also a chance for everyone to try out Mike’s Italian Ice too and a neat photo op area.

So much to see and do. We absolutely left feeling in the Christmas spirit and were so happy about the time that we spent together. I think you would really absolutely enjoy this with your family too! Thanks again so much for the great hospitality, Gaylord Palms! 🙂
