Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

I have tweaked the recipe for Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin Cookies that is found on the Quaker Oats container for my Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. I have been making them this way for years, and they are sooooo good!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Serves: 4 dozen
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter (I use salted Land O Lakes Butter)
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups Quaker Oats
  • 2 cups Ghirardelli 60% cacao chocolate chips
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In mixer, beat softened butter and sugars on low speed until creamy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well.
  4. In a separate bowl combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Add those dry ingredients gradually; mixing as you go.
  5. Add oats and mix.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips by hand.
  7. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet about an inch apart.
  8. Bake 8-10 minutes until light golden brown.
  9. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet and then remove to a wire rack.
  10. Eat them while they are hot or let cool!
