With so many things to see and do at Walt Disney World Resort during the holiday season, I have found that there are a few resorts that are my favorite to visit during this time. All of the resorts have decorations that are fabulous and coincide with the theme of the location, but five of them stand out and are on our must-see list! I have not placed these in any particular order.
Disney’s BoardWalk Resort:
We love driving over to this resort, that is near Epcot, and walking around it all throughout the year, but when Christmastime comes, the Christmas trees, garlands and lights really bring it to life. I also especially love the gingerbread house that is in the lobby. So pretty and fun to check out. This year, there were some different yummy goodies that guests could purchase too. Check out more photos and a video here.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa:
We had fun visiting Disney’s Grand Floridian & Spa in November to view the Christmas decorations. Such a beautiful resort, and with its huge Victorian-inspired Christmas tree, wreaths, garlands and gingerbread house, we LOVE being able to walk around, enjoy the sights, breathe in the wonderful aroma of gingerbread and listen to the holiday music. The gingerbread house is made up of 1,050 pounds of honey, 140 pints of egg whites, 600 pounds of powdered sugar, 700 pounds of chocolate, 800 pounds of flour, 35 pounds of spices and as Disney says, “tons of creativity, Disney magic and Pixie Dust!” I love all of the Santas and Disney characters that are found on it as well. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge:
I really love the woodsy, mountain feel that Disney’s Wilderness Lodge brings (country/mountain girl at heart) and always have fun checking it out during the holidays. The tall tree in the lobby is a sight to see, as are all of the garlands, wreaths and more. I think I could just hang out in one of the comfortable chairs in the lobby for hours.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort:
The gingerbread carousel wasn’t quite completed when my family and I visited Disney’s Beach Club Resort in mid-November, but we enjoyed it nonetheless! My son and I took this picture together in front of the carousel. Great memory! 🙂 You can view more photos and a video here.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge:
We are looking forward to seeing Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge all dressed for the holiday season! In the past, we have had a great time at both Jambo House and Kidani Village looking at the very unique Christmas decorations. This picture was taken in November 2013 inside Jambo House.
Making cookies, drinking hot chocolate, viewing the Christmas lights, holiday music and watching holiday movies – these are all of things that I bring me such JOY! I hope that you have a wonderful time with your family and friends this holiday season. Let me know if you have a chance to visit any of these resorts this year! 🙂 Merry Christmas!
