We had a pretty fun day at Epcot in the early part of August. The theme park inside Walt Disney World Resort is at the top of my list, right behind Magic Kingdom, out of the 4 theme parks to spend time at. There are always easy going rides to hop on without a FastPass (Living with the Land, Spaceship Earth, etc.), and we just love to stroll around looking at everything. Oh, and I always spot pretty flowers to snap pictures of. 🙂
On this trip, we chose to get a FastPass for the newly opened Soarin’ Around the World, and had a lot of anticipation for the ride, as we have loved Soarin’ Over California! So happy that we were able to finally try it out. It is WONDERFUL!! With the same concept of flying, there are new scents, great new scenes, plus a lot more movement in certain areas of the attraction that made it such a memorable occasion for my family and I to enjoy for the first time. It is always hard to see something fun end, like Soarin’ Over California, but it is great to experience new things! We are really looking forward to hopping on it again soon. Big claps for this attraction!
As we walked around, we headed into the Mexico Pavilion and got on the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros. We always have fun on this cute little boat ride. It is smooth, relaxing and it gets you out of the sun for a little bit. Also, the atmosphere inside this country’s pavilion has been one of our favorites forever. The mood at the San Angel Inn Restaurante, and in the gift shop, is so neat. Which country do you like best at Epcot?!!
Next up was the new Frozen area of the Norway Pavilion. This is super cute! I love the buildings, and even though we didn’t have a chance to ride the new Frozen Ever After attraction, we had a great time exploring this area. See my photos and video here.
With all of that crossed off of our to-do list, we had another stop in mind. Recently, a spot for DVC (Disney Vacation Club) members opened up in the Imagination Pavilion. We headed up the stairs, after being checked in, to find a great lounge area to unwind, plug in your phone, grab a complimentary soft drink and more. We found a great place to sit together and drank some Coca-Cola! There was also coffee available, Disney Infinity games for the kids to play, iPads to use and a computer station. The area is enclosed in glass, and it was really cool to be able to watch what the guests at the park were doing beneath us. Plus, you can watch the monorail traveling by as well. While we were relaxing in the comfy seating, I was thinking that all we were missing were some cookies to munch on, and it was about 10 minutes later that a Disney Cast Member came around with a cart full of bagged items like Cheez-Its, chocolate chip cookies, chips and more. How great that was! A very nice surprise. We love being DVC members, and this is a really nice place that they have created for people to use daily from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. How nice it would be if there were locations added to the other 3 parks too! Read more about the new lounge here.
The clouds were getting pretty dark and it was forecasted to rain, so after recharging, we left for the day taking with us more memories to add to all of our great visits to Walt Disney World Resort. That’s what keeps us going, spending time together at such an awesome place.
P.S. The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival begins soon. See details here.
