We received complimentary tickets. All opinions are my own.
My family and I LOVE going to watch baseball games, and we have so enjoyed taking in minor league games. We recently had a chance to watch the Bradenton Marauders play the St. Lucie Mets in Port St. Lucie, Florida. My husband had an appointment down that way, and afterwards we traveled to the Port St. Lucie area to watch the game. I have talked about it so many times before – and I love to tweet about it too – about my family being huge fans of the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the Marauders are the Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Pirates. So, we were really excited to see the Marauders play for the first time!
My first thoughts as we pulled off of the road towards First Data Field was that it was super nice and clean. We arrived early (and we are never early for anything), and were happy that we did. We walked around and checked out everything at the stadium. We found some seats on the right field line and watched the guys warm-up. We like to get up and move around during the game too. Plus, it is kind of fun to sit in different seats to get another vantage point of the game. So, we did that, and were just so pleased with every view.
We got in line before the game started to get some hot dogs. In my opinion, you cannot go to a baseball game without getting a hot dog! 🙂 They sold Nathan’s hot dogs, and they were SO good!! Pop and a hot dog, and I was happy!
The location of the stadium was so convenient to the hotel we stayed at. Please check out my article on our relaxing stay at the Residence Inn Port St. Lucie. It was so wonderful! The hotel was only about 5 minutes from First Data Field, and we were very happy about that. I highly recommend staying there if you are going to take in a game at First Data Field.
The whole experience was fantastic!
As I said previously, the ballpark was wonderful, and the game was fantastic!!! In fact, we were there quite awhile, as it went into extra innings – 14 innings to be exact!!! Wow! The Marauders won! YAY! If I remember right, the game started at about 6:30 p.m., and we left at about 11:30 p.m. We drove straight to Wendy’s, which was right around the corner from the hotel, to grab a late-night snack. We took it back to the room, ate and got some sleep.
Looking back on our experience, I would absolutely go back to First Data Field to watch another game in the future. 🙂 It was a BLAST!! Minor league games are really nice because they are not that crowded and most are very family friendly.
Do you love going to watch baseball games with your family? If you haven’t tried it yet, there is plenty of time this spring and summer. Nothing beats a warm, spring or summer night at the baseball field! Thanks for reading, and I would love to hear from you in the comment section below. 🙂
P.S. Read about our fun time watching the Lakeland Flying Tigers here.
