The 22nd annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is coming up soon! I enjoy the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot a little bit more than the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival because…I LOVE flowers! But, there are so many great things about this festival too! I am not a drinker, but I do love food, and there are a lot of choices of unique foods to try at this festival. And, for those that enjoy alcoholic beverages, there is a big selection of that too.
Get ready to have some fun at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival at Walt Disney World Resort beginning this month! The dates for this fun celebration begin on August 31, 2017, and will run through November 13th. This is a record 75 days for this event, which gives you a lot of opportunities to enjoy all of the fun throughout World Showcase and Future World at Epcot. So cool!! A fun fact, the first Epcot International Food & Wine Festival took place in 1996 and ran for 30 days. It sure has gained popularity over the years! The weekends are REALLY busy, so if you can, visit during the week. Just a little tip from me! 🙂
Check out my photos from the 2016 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival here.
There are so many cute little food stands that you will run into at Epcot during this festival. A few of my favorite locations are Scotland and Ireland, I just love the look of them! 🙂 As I have talked about in past articles, we are pretty frugal, and we don’t usually spend too much money on trying out the special food selections during this festival. But, we have tried some things, and there are so many that have looked pretty tempting!! Do you enjoy trying the yummy offerings?
New for the 2017 festival, there will be 35 global marketplaces – celebrating 35 years of Epcot – that will include five new marketplaces. They will be called Active Eats, Coastal Eats, Flavors from Fire and Light Lab, and will be located in the park’s Future World area. The Almond Orchard, which is hosted by Blue Diamond Almond Breeze, is the fifth new marketplace that you will find along the World Showcase promenade.
During this year’s festival, they will offer more than 50 domestic and international wines at global marketplaces. More than 50 wineries and more than 35 breweries from all over the world, including local craft beer operations, will be represented at festival marketplaces.
The Eat To The Beat concert series returns with 32 musical acts that are set to perform during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. Returning fan favorites such as Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Air Supply and 38 Special. Some new groups too like The Hooters and Kenny G (see the entire lineup for the Eat To The Beat concerts here). Awesome!! These are really fun to check out and take place three times/day!
4. Find Chef Remy
Great for the kids in your family, and everyone else for that matter, is the return of the culinary scavenger hunt for Chef Remy. You will have fun searching all over Epcot to find him. 🙂
5. Back to Basics Festival Center
During the weekends, the complimentary Back to Basics Festival Center will share food tips and tricks from the pros. You will be able to enjoy book and bottle signings that will be scheduled and our favorite, The Chocolate Experience: From Bean to the Bar that is hosted by Ghirardelli! They will offer samples of their chocolate to guests! Yay!! We love free, and we LOVE Ghirardelli!
All of the things that I have mentioned are included with your regular Epcot admission. There are some special offerings that are not included. Be sure to check out Disney’s site for more details. Let me know if have time to visit the festival this year! 🙂 Enjoy! Thanks so much for reading, and if you have time, leave a comment below.
