In news from Universal Orlando Resort on September 7, 2017, they have announced that their attraction called Terminator 2: 3-D will be closing. The attraction that is located at Universal Studios Florida will be running its last shows on Sunday, October 8, 2017. They are planning on adding an all-new live action experience based on a high-energy Universal franchise in its place.
It has been a while since my family and I enjoyed watching Terminator 2: 3-D. This live-action show did entertain us, but we just didn’t make time for it very often. Are you sad to see that it will be closing? Did you enjoy it with your family?
Below are the details about Terminator 2: 3-D from Universal’s website:
The Future Is In Your Face
Sit back for a fascinating presentation by Cyberdyne Systems, creators of Skynet artificial intelligence. But don’t get too comfy. The cyborgs on display have planned a surprise attack and they’re coming after YOU.
As you join forces with the Terminator to battle rogue cyborgs, you’ll be thrown into a mix of live action stunts, special effects, and amazing 3-D filmmaking. Dodge plasma blasts. Feel objects whooshing past you. And become completely immersed in the 360-degree action of this thrilling apocalyptic adventure. Mark our words, you’ll be back.
The new experience that will replace Terminator 2: 3-D is expected to open in 2019. This is just one of the many exciting new experiences coming to Universal Orlando Resort, as they continue to grow. The theme park just recently closed Dragon Challenge (this was located at Universal’s Islands of Adventure). It officially closed on Tuesday, September 5, in order to make room for a brand-new attraction…another Harry Potter attraction!! Yay!! It will arrive in 2019 as well.
Universal Orlando Resort is really doing a great job keeping everything fresh and exciting! Some of the new attractions that have opened from last year until now are Skull Island: Reign of Kong (opened in July 2016) and “Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon” (officially opened on April 6, 2017). Their newest park – Universal’s Volcano Bay – opened in May 2017. This became their third theme park, and it has been a huge success. And, there was an announcement in November 2016 that another new hotel called Universal’s Aventura Hotel is on the way and opening in 2018. This will become their sixth hotel. Wow! Really great!
We can’t wait to see what will be arriving in the place of Terminator 2: 3-D, and will update this post when we hear more details. Universal Orlando Resort mentioned that more information would be coming soon! 🙂
