Special thanks to LEGOLAND Florida Resort for hosting my stay. All opinions are my own.
I established a criteria that fits our family’s needs when visiting a resort, and I used it in my article about staying at The Residence Inn Port St. Lucie, Florida. It’s the Crooks’ Family Four Cs – Cleanliness, Comfort, Convenient and Courteous. I think it is a great way to give an overall feel of my opinion on visiting a resort. So, with this in mind, we had the absolute pleasure of visiting LEGOLAND Florida Beach Retreat at LEGOLAND Florida Resort last week, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it! 🙂
After checking in and walking to our unit for the night, the first thing that hit me when I stepped inside is that it was so CLEAN! It smelled of cleanliness and it was spotless. There is a high level of attention to detail that LEGOLAND Florida Resort does so right! I am very picky about clean bathrooms and of course the bedding. It met my standards! I was very satisfied with the cleanliness of not only the bungalow, but also of the grounds around our place. The nearby pool and restaurant was very neat and tidy as well. 🙂
Each cottage at LEGOLAND Florida Beach Retreat consists of two units. There are 83 bungalows that offer 166 separate rooms. I really liked that, and I found it to be very quiet while we were there. Each unit will accommodate up to five people. As you enter your brightly colored bungalow, you are greeted with lots of the fun LEGO creations and murals! I LOVE all of the LEGO details! So much fun! A big, comfy bed is in the main space. A wall-mounted flat panel TV is situated on the opposite end of the bed, along with a built-in dresser and small refrigerator. A cozy area has been created just for the kids. They can sleep in the bunk beds and trundle bed and a privacy curtain separates their sleeping quarters from the parents’ area. The bathrooms include a tub/shower, sink and the toilets even are equipped with toddler seats! Awesome!!! 🙂 It is a VERY comfortable room. We had a blast in it!
Staying at LEGOLAND Florida Beach Retreat is a very unique way of vacationing. It is so great for families and groups traveling together to enjoy. The bungalows are grouped into 13 horseshoe-shaped “coves” that are named after popular LEGO Minifigures. We were in Swimming Champions Cove. They sit right next to Lake Dexter, and it is the sweetest spot for these beautiful cottages. They all have their own outdoor play area within view of the bungalows’ shaded patios. I liked that each unit had their own outdoor table and chairs on the patio too!
LEGOLAND Florida Beach Retreat is about three-quarters of a mile from LEGOLAND Florida. No worries though, as you can hop on a complimentary shuttle that will take you to the park. And, if you wish, you can take your own vehicle and park for free while you stay at the retreat. Great!! We LOVED the check-in process too! Guests can pull up to a drive-through window and get registered, get your information packet and the keys to your unit without leaving your vehicle. NICE!!! Parking near your unit is very convenient, and they offered some cute carts to help you in getting your luggage to your room.
As I touched on above, there is a really nice restaurant in this new complex. It is called Sandy’s Castle Restaurant, and it offers amazing island flavors. Enjoy the complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning before you head to the park for a day of fun. There is a take-out menu available too. In the evening, your family would have fun dining with Captain Brickbeard.
If you want to go outside of the complex, there is a big selection of the shopping and restaurants. There is a Publix for grabbing snacks and drinks, plus so many choices of restaurants (quick and sit down) like Taco Bell, McDonald’s, Zaxby’s, Chili’s Grill & Bar, Chick-fil-A, Olive Garden, Starbucks and lots more. If you need to stop at Walmart, there is one not too far away. We also noticed a walk-in clinic and a hospital about 2 1/2 miles away, and that is always something we pay attention to when traveling (see my article on being prepared for emergencies when traveling). You just never know when you may need medical assistance.
The Oasis Pool sits right next to Sandy’s Castle Restaurant, and it is super great!!! Along with the fun swimming pool, there is a sandy playground area as well. Check out your information packet for details on the great pool activities, and the Lighting of the Lighthouse takes place in the evening too. So neat!!!
I NEVER have a bad thing to say about any of the LEGOLAND Florida Resort staff and crew. They are always so genuine and kind. We feel very welcome when we visit either the park or their resorts! It is the friendliest place to visit, and that keeps us coming back for more! 🙂
I hope that you have a chance to take your family and visit this wonderful, new resort. It really is #BuiltForKids, but adults will find it so fun too!!! 🙂 My husband wishes we could have had the opportunity to visit when our son was little (he’s almost 20 years old now and this amazing place was not here when he was younger), and I agree with him. But, I can say that we as a family are all pretty kiddish, and we just love it – no matter our ages!!! 🙂
