Hey, everyone!! It’s been a little while since I posted an article here. We have been super busy! It has been a good busy though, and I just can’t believe that we are well into June already! Wow! I hope that you are all doing great and have some fun things planned for summer.
You sure can tell that it is summer here in Central Florida! The temperature was up to about 94 degrees on Monday (June 4, 2018), and we wanted to wait until it cooled down a little to head over to see all of the “Incredible Summer” fun at Magic Kingdom. Walt Disney World Resort announced earlier this year that they were going to have some new experiences planned for summer beginning on May 25th, and of course, as you can see by the name, it correlates with the release of Incredibles 2! We can’t wait to go and see this movie when it hits theaters on June 15th!
So, as I mentioned we did arrive at Magic Kingdom more towards evening…around 8:00 pm by the time we got off of the ferry boat. I love taking the ferry over, especially on nice, warm nights! The sun was going down, and we grabbed the new MapGuide and headed to Tomorrowland where all of the activities were taking place. There was a lot of cool signage that I noticed as we walked into Tomorrowland from the bridge off of Main Street U.S.A. In fact, Tomorrowland had been transformed into the Incredible Tomorrowland Expo! Pretty neat. I was a little bit bummed though because I didn’t realize that some of the entertainment had already ended for the day! Ugh! I am not sure if it will change as the summer progresses, but Super Super Fans (mingle with the characters from Disney-Pixar’s The Incredibles) was running intermittently from 10 am until 6:30 pm yesterday. Plus, the fun dance party with the characters had ended at 7:00 pm. So, we will have to go back and enjoy it another day. 🙂
I noticed a lot of fun Incredibles merchandise in the Merchant of Venus gift shop and tasty treats to try in the area too. We had already eaten dinner before we arrived, so we didn’t purchase any food. But, maybe next time we will. My son thought the Super Stretchy Burger inspired by Mrs. Incredible sounded yummy!
We hopped on the PeopleMover (as we usually do when we visit Magic Kingdom) and had a FastPass+ for Buzz. After that we walked around to a couple of the new photo ops with Disney PhotoPass, and we had fun doing that! I later watched the little video of The Incredibles that goes along with the pictures that were taken of us, and it was super cute! Definitely worth doing, in my opinion. 🙂
We had seen all that I had come for and headed out of the park as Happily Ever After Fireworks were kicking off. Wow, it was still crowded for this display. We have never watched this in full because we don’t want to wait an hour for a spot to see it. The first time we tried to watch it was when it began about a year ago, and we stood back at the train station. Not a very good view! Oh well! Maybe we can catch it next time. 🙂 As we left on the ferry and docked, it was kinda cool to stop and watch the fireworks from Transportation and Ticket Center. Pretty!
I will update this post as we make our way to the other parks to check out the “Incredible Summer” fun.
Updated on July 3rd: We had a chance to visit Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and you can check it out here.
