I have been thinking hard about my goals for 2019! As I sit down to write this post, I feel like I have been writing it in my head for about 6 months or so. 🙂 I have made a decision to make this my last post on my Blogging Mom site…for now! Who knows if I will get the urge to come back to it. But for now, I will continue to do some posting over on Dis411 (those posts are pretty quick and easy), and I have come to the conclusion that I am ready to close this chapter.
I wake up every morning thinking about this decision, and I have struggled with it. I feel kind of unsettled, and it is now time to write it down and put it out into the world. It feels like the fact that I am telling everyone, makes it more real. Does that make sense? 🙂 I also do not like to be mediocre. I like to be all-in and have structure. But, I have realized that it is OK to have had a path and goals and then make decisions to change them. It is not failure, just that I have new things I want to do and to find new adventures. We only live once, and there are other things I am passionate about, like renovating homes, crafting, spending even more time with my family doing fun things. And while, all of that would be great to share on this blog, it just seems to be more of a chore to get posts done.
Blogging is a daily job, and I have enjoyed it for 8+ years! But, as I said in a post I wrote on my 7th year blogging birthday, I would not continue blogging if I wasn’t having fun. There are many reasons and thoughts about why I have chosen to not continue down this path, and I think it mainly comes down to how much time it takes to keep up with thinking of articles, writing them, editing, taking pictures for them and then spreading them across social media.
So, one of the hardest parts about making this decision is that I didn’t want to miss out on the fun communication from other mom bloggers, vloggers and more. I LOVE hopping on Twitter and Instagram to see what other families are doing in their day, what trips they are taking, fun photos from Disney, etc. So, guess what? I realized that I don’t have to give that up! YAY!! I want to still share pictures on Instagram and keep up with other bloggers. I am going to go back to my cheerleading roots (I was a cheerleader from 5th grade until senior year). I am looking forward to having more time to comment, like and share other hard-working bloggers out there. As all of you in this field know, you don’t have a whole lot of time to read other people’s posts and watch their YouTube videos because you are working on your own content. But, I am going to make an effort every day to do this! I know how much it helps to have views on your website, YouTube and more. Having likes, retweets, comments and sharing content via social media is key to spreading the word about your blog, vlog, etc. So, that is my way of staying connected to the blogging world. YAY!! I am really excited about this! 🙂
Goals for 2019:
So, that is one of my goals for 2019 – helping other hard-working people out there! Focusing on my health and my family’s health is at the top of the list. We don’t travel too far anymore, but there are PLENTY of fun things to do near us, and we are putting them on our list of things to do. Also, finding new things to be passionate about on a daily basis, like blogging was for me, is something I am looking forward to. I am ready to keep moving forward and enjoying life! 🙂
I want to thank all of you for your support and kind words with my blogging journey. If you would like to stay in touch, follow me on Twitter and Instagram! I hope that you have a very happy and healthy New Year! 🙂
